How to play

1. You're dealt five cards. Jacks or Better is a five-card draw video poker game.
2. Hold or discard. Decide which cards to keep ("hold") and which to discard. Tap to hold, then draw.
3. Draw replacements. Discarded cards are replaced with new ones from the deck — that's your final hand.
4. Win condition: your final hand must contain at least a pair of Jacks (Jacks, Queens, Kings, or Aces). A pair of tens or lower does not pay. Stronger poker hands pay more.
5. Hand ranking & payout (per coin/stake; the table scales with how much you bet, 1–5): Royal Flush pays 250 (4000 at max bet ×5); Straight Flush 50 (250); Four of a Kind 25 (125); Full House 7 (35); Flush 5 (25); Straight 4 (20); Three of a Kind 3 (15); Two Pair 2 (10); Jacks or Better (pair) 1 (5). The in-app paytable shows five columns: the base multiplier for a 1-coin bet, then ×2, ×3, ×4 for higher bets, and a final 5-coin column where the Royal Flush jumps to a 4000 jackpot. Higher bet = bigger payout.
6. Two-player mode specifics: Both players use 100 "Playing-Dollars" per game — each starts with 25, and 50 go into the game-pot (bank). Each round both players receive an identically shuffled deck and can set their round stake. Win a round → take Playing-Dollars from the pot; lose a round → your stake goes into the pot. A game is won three ways: (1) all rounds played and you have more Playing-Dollars, (2) your opponent loses all their Playing-Dollars, or (3) the pot is empty and you have more Playing-Dollars. Games run a maximum number of rounds (default 20).
