Jassen is the free app for Schieber Jass, the popular Swiss trick-taking card game played mainly in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg (Austria). It ships the Schieber variant: four players in fixed teams of two, using a 36-card deck. Play online multiplayer against real opponents and friends, offline vs. the computer to practise, or enter online tournaments and climb the leaderboards. Pick your preferred deck (French, double-German or Swiss cards) and play Jass like in your local pub — anytime, anywhere.
Also known as: Jass, Schieber, Schieber Jass, Online Jassen, Online Jass, Jassen Schweiz, Mobile Jass, (FR) Jass, (NL listing planned) (online) klaverjassen / klaberjass

How to play
- Setup. Schieber Jass is played by four players in two fixed teams of two (partners sit opposite each other), with a 36-card deck; each player is dealt 9 cards. Play proceeds counter-clockwise.
- Choosing trump. One player picks the trump suit (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades) or one of two no-trump modes:
- Obenabe (Top-Down): no trump; 6 is lowest, Ace is highest.
- Undenufe (Bottom-Up): no trump; 6 is highest, Ace is lowest.
- (In code: `calls = ["HE","KA","KR","PI","U","O"]` — four suit trumps plus Undenufe (U) and Obenabe (O).)
- Weis & Stöck. After choosing, a player holding certain combinations can declare a Weis (sequences and four-of-a-kinds) for bonus points. The Stöck is the trump King + Ober (Queen) and scores extra.
- Card values (from `gamelogicCommon.js`):
- Suit trump: Jack (Puur) = 20, Nell (9) = 14, Ace = 11, Banner (10) = 10, King = 4, Ober = 3; trump cards weighted highest.
- Standard / non-trump: Ace = 11, Banner (10) = 10, King = 4, Ober = 3, Jack = 2.
- Obenabe: the 8 additionally scores 8 points.
- Undenufe: 6 = 11, 8 = 8 (order reversed — the 6 is the highest card).
- Play rules:
- Follow suit always, EXCEPT:
- you may always trump;
- you cannot under-trump (cannot play a lower trump when a higher one is already down);
- if you can't follow suit you may play any card — but not under-trump;
- the trump Jack (Puur) is exempt from follow-suit/trump obligations.
- Goal. Win tricks and, with your partner, score enough points. The Schieber mechanic lets the trump-choosing player "shove" (pass) the choice to their partner. in this app]
